Android Gingerbread Cookies!

What’s better than gingerbread cookies during Christmas time? Android gingerbread cookies!

This morning, I baked Android gingerbread cookies to bring to work and share. The cookie cutter was made earlier in the week.

Here’s the process:

The cookie cutter was made out of a hose clamp, which was bent with pliers into an Android shape.

Ta-da! Finished product!

I thought the tracing of the cookie cutter looked like a bat, so I drew a bat face on it. I attemped to make another Android, but failed miserably as the hose clamp was hard to bend. Instead, it ended up looking like Totoro!

Here are the Android guys, all baked and ready for chomping!

I decorated them with white and red icing. I wish I had gotten green too. Also, I wish the tip of the icing dispensers were more pointed for easy decorating. Next time, I’ll try to find the type of icing that hardens. I think that’d be more ideal for these cookies.

Bowties and buttons! Although one of the little guys had a full tie on! Can you spot him?

All the cookies.

You totally want to eat them.

And here’s Allan at work, totally eating the one with the full tie! Om nom nom.

Oh, no! Where did his eye go?!

I think these little guys were well-received because there was only one poor little Android left by the end of the day!

Lesson of the day: Flour is your friend. Especially when dealing with oily dough and using a cookie cutter with a complicated shape.

Oh! Also, today is my mom’s birthday! Happy birthday to mom. :)
