Disneyland – Let the Memories Begin!

IMG_3328.JPG

I went to Disneyland yesterday, after not having been there for quite some time. I believe it has been probably two months or so. It seems that every time we attempt to go, the weather decides to fail us, and it begins to rain. Luckily, yesterday evening was great!

Memorable quote on the way to the parking lot: “*Ahem ahem* There’s no churro in my hand.”

I hadn’t seen Fantasmic! in a while (pictured in the three photos above), so we decided to watch through the 10:15PM showing completely. I must say, I do love Fantasmic! I never get tired of it. That show always seems to make me happy. The giant inflatable Ursula seems to be either broken again/under repair or they decided to do away with it completely, but Disneyland replaced her spot with moving Flotsam and Jetsam water floats – a pleasant surprise! I think they’re way more awesome than giant inflatable Ursula anyway! The  segment with Sorcerer Mickey has always been my favorite and it still is. I can’t help but enjoy all the fireworks and motions and the music! This time, we paid close attention to the actors in the show and laughed at how exaggerated all their motions are – it’s great. These types of things, you don’t really notice when you’re younger. It makes plenty of sense that the actors have to do these exaggerated motions, though, to get the crowd into the show and so they can convey the actions and emotions they’re trying to express.

Of all the times I have been to Disneyland in the past few years, I still had never been on the new and improved Finding Nemo submarine ride. The line was always just too long! Yesterday, however, with the tolerable line, we finally decided to give it a go. I figured I’d document this moment and photographed the submarine on which we embarked for our underwater adventure! I must say that this ride is indeed new and improved. I found the incorporation of the Finding Nemo characters to be creative, tasteful, and really cute. They did away with the cheesy ultra fake props that the old submarine ride used to have. I recommend going on this ride if you haven’t yet; it’s a real treat. I found it highly amusing.

I took a couple photos with this little green alien from Toy Story following the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters ride/game. I love those little green aliens; they are so funny in the Toy Story films. I was also pretty happy at that moment, considering I scored a whopping 256,600. Ownage. Totally owned 147,900. :] On another note, please ignore the excess baggage below my eyes; I need to start sleeping consistently earlier.

Protip #1: Don’t buy the French vanilla cappuccino at Market House on Main St. It tastes like some type of cookie (gingerbread? ginger snap?) in a cup; nothing like coffee/espresso at all.

Protip #2: If you want specialty coffee while on/near Main St., just head over across from Market House and purchase yourself a coffee at Blue Ribbon Bakery. I do recall purchasing some type of latte there and being pleasantly satisfied.
